ASUS ZENFONE MAX PRO M2 REVIEW: BUILD AND DESIGN.

Asus certainly made a major change from its predecessor to the new Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2. It has a 3D glass look and a bowed back that looks great and also gives the user a great feel. There are also two primary cameras with a fingerprint scanner and an Asus brand on the back.

Not only on the back, but also in the front, Asus has changed. There is a large clamp with a secondary camera, an earpiece and a flash front. This time Asus was also able to cut the belts and although the phone has a huge 5000mAh battery, it weighs only 175 grams.

The phone comes with an amazing corning glass 6, a great thing in this price segment.

ASUS ZENFONE MAX PRO M2 REVIEW: DISPLAY

Asus increased the display to 6.26 inches in the Max Pro M2 from 5.99 inches. It is a 1080px panel with a resolution of 2280x1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9.

It comes with a wide notch. Asus was also able to integrate the old LED notification light. This is usually sacrificed by other smartphone manufacturers.

ASUS ZENFONE MAX PRO M2 REVIEW: CAMERA

Asus has changed the camera configuration a little. The Max pro m2 comes with a dual camera on the back. It comes with a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor, accompanied by a 5MP portrait depth sensor. Of the two, the primary camera has a f/1.8 aperture, 1.25μm pixel size and 6P lens. They are capable of recording videos in 4 K resolution.

The camera performance was significantly improved. Low light performance is sufficient. However, video recording must get better.

Asus has also increased its selfie camera in terms of megapixels. It now uses a 13MP Sony IMX486 sensor on the front with a f/2.0 aperture and a 1.12-micron pixel size. The selfies captured on the phone are quite decent.

Overall, the Zenfone Max Pro M2 does not have the best cameras in its class, but the camera performance is still pretty good and should not be a dealbreaker.

ASUS ZENFONE MAX PRO M2 REVIEW: BATTERY LIFE

Like its predecessor, the Zenfone Max Pro M2 offers a killer battery life. The 5,000mAh battery lasts two days at full charge, offering a screen time of seven hours. Heavy users should not have any problems lasting throughout the day. Asus mentions that the phone supports fast charging, but it takes about two and a half hours to fully charge the phone.

Asus has bundled a standard 5V-2A (10W) charger, which charges the battery in about two hours and 18 minutes. The charging speed is not bad, but if it could boost from 0 to 50 percent in 30 minutes, it would be a good upgrade.

ASUS ZENFONE MAX PRO M2 REVIEW: SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE

In terms of performance, the Zenfone Max Pro M2 is smooth. The new Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 comes with the Qualcomm SnapdragonTM 660 64-bit Octa-core Processor and Adreno 512 GPU.

The Zenfone Max Pro M2 offers good performance, be it using daily apps, multi-tasking with a few apps open in the background or while playing games. It offers snappy performance thanks to the fast processor and Android stock. We did not encounter any delay or stuttering on our unit when scrolling through the user interface or during multitasking.

Finally, for security, you can use the fingerprint scanner at the back to unlock this phone, but we found it a bit slow. Face recognition is also supported, which is pretty fast, even in low light scenarios.

ASUS ZENFONE MAX PRO M2 REVIEW: VERDICT

Asus definitely got the attention by giving this phone a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, a large 5000mAh battery, android software, trendy design and a price that undermines competition.

The Zenfone Max Pro M2 is also an excellent option for gaming. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 gets most of the goods for its price point. If you’re looking for a telephone under Rs 16,000 in India, Asus Max Pro M2 is definitely worth considering.
